Tridoshic — Recommended Foods For All Doshas


In the previous three articles, we listed foods to avoid and foods to favor for Kapha, Pitta, and Vata. In this article, we’re going to discuss Tridoshic foods that are soothing to all doshas.

VEGETABLES

• Asparagus
• Beets (cooked)
• Cabbage (cooked)

• Leeks (cooked)

• Onions (cooked)
• Parsley
• Peas
• Potatoes (sweet for V, white for K)
• Radishes (cooked)

GRAINS

• Amaranth
• Durham Flour
• Oats (cooked for P & V, dry for K)
• Quinoa
• Rice (basmati & wild)
• Seitan (wheat meat)
• Sprouted Wheat Bread

• Red Lentils
• Mung Beans
• Mung Dal
• Soy Milk
• Tofu


Ayurvedic cooking for two or more can be tricky. Making separate dishes isn’t always possible so tridoshic dishes are the way to go.
