What are Veladas?

Veladas are nocturnal spiritual gatherings aimed at progressing the practitioners towards the very ultimate expression of their lives in this reality. At a personal level, they are tokens of goodwill offered as a symbol of our desire to evolve in our path.

Veladas go by different names depending on tradition. For example, in Hinduism and Buddhism, they are called sadhanas. Regardless of their label, veladas take us out of our otherwise predictable routines and into unknown environments.

In the context of Kiva Yoga Institute’s spiritual Yoga retreats, veladas occur in the early hours of the morning. Every ceremony is unique and never planned in advance. This is because nothing is ever the same. It’s important to create the space for life to happen.
